Three Months Old

Floyd?Cooper turned three months old on Easter Sunday. He's really starting to get a personality. When I get home from work he and I will sit together and talk. I tickle his belly and smile at him and gives me the widest grin in return. I ask him to say ma-ma or da-da and he will make all kinds of noises back. Chris was cracking up last night because Cooper kept laughing and talking in his sleep. It really makes your heart melt.

IMG_1350He is getting much better control over his neck. When you lay him on the floor or your chest he pushes himself up really high. Tonight I laid him on his tummy on the floor and he pushed himself up, grunting and groaning the whole time, and ended up rolling over to his back. I think it surprised both of us. We're not sure if that counts as his first rollover since I think it may have been accident. But it's a good sign that he is developing at a normal pace. He is also really using his hands. He puts his fist in his mouth and sucks on it especially when he is hungry. Cooper always seems to be swinging his arms around and sometimes knocks himself in the head pretty hard. Yesterday he knocked the bottle out of Chris' hand twice. One of the most exciting developments for us is he has had several nights now where he's slept from 1am to 6am. This is a milestone we've really been looking forward to - sleep!

Grammie stayed with us this weekend while Grandpa Tom went fishing. It ended up just being a trip to the lake for grandpa since the weather was so cold and windy. There were 12 foot waves on Lake Erie so there was no chance of going out. Grammie helped me clean out my closet. Mainly she watched Cooper (which is the best help) and also was the voice of reason in deciding whether to keep or donate some of my clothes. I'm not saying grammie spoiled Cooper while she was here but he was a real crank on Monday after she left. There has been a lot of discussion in our household about who Cooper looks like. Chris thinks he has grammie's nose so she sent us this baby picture of her so we could compare.

Cooper really likes his activity gym. He likes to follow the lights as they flash around and he kicks his legs like he is keeping time to the music. Tonight he was really enjoying it - smiling and laughing - until I got out the camera - then he toned it down a bit.
