Where have you been?

I apologize to our loyal readers (the grandparents) for the lack of posts. I've been helping plan my 15 year class reunion so I've been stuck on memory lane the past week. We sure did have some questionable taste back then. Anyway, I know Mamaw and Papaw need some updates so I'm spending my lunch hour writing this post.

Cooper is really developing a personality. He and I have a conversation every night when I get home from work. I think he's trying to tell me what he, Chris and Floyd did all day but I'm still having problems translating. But we talk anyway and he laughs at all my jokes so that is good (at least someone does).

We've been having some issues with his fingernails. They are so sharp that he scratches himself all the time. This time he got the side of his nose.

It was getting so bad that he looked like he'd been in a knife fight every morning. Desperate measures were taken and as you can see he is not pleased. He has been sucking on his hands (occasionally the thumb when he finds it) so the mittens were soaked.

We've been enjoying the weather now that it is nice again. Friday we went over to our friends Sam and Laura's house and hung out with them and our other friends Linda and Pat. Linda and Laura were planning a baby shower for us but Cooper's early arrival ruined the plans so they surprised us with some gifts. Cooper officially has some Ohio University gear now. Saturday we put Cooper in the stroller and walked to the library then down to Grandview Avenue where we got ice cream and lunch (in that order...being an adult is cool). Cooper really enjoyed the ride. Sunday we went to Mansfield and had a cookout at my parents. Chris bought Cooper a hat to keep the sun off his face. He was afraid I would buy a sissy one. I think Cooper likes it.

Cooper finally got to meet his great grandad (my mom's dad). They seemed to hit it off quite well.

And he also met his great grandma (my dad's mom). They really liked each other too.

Cooper is a pleasant little guy the majority of the time. He has the occasional fussy periods (who doesn't) but we're really starting to learn what makes him happy and calm. He really likes to lay in his Pack 'n Play and watch the lights on his activity gym. He's starting to sleep longer periods at night. Usually we put him to bed around 8 or 9 and he will sleep until 1 or 2 then he will sleep until about 7. That is definitely a good thing. He's also good in public (so far). Chris took him to the grocery store yesterday and he rode in the cart without making a peep. Chris said all the cashiers had to flirt with him and thought he was very cute (Cooper not Chris that is).

Until next time...
