Cooper really enjoyed his first day of preschool. He was super excited
to wear his Buzz Lightyear backpack and pack his lunch. He practically
ran into the school saying hi to anyone who crossed his path. Once in
the classroom we hung up his jacket and backpack on his hook and then
turned his attendance card around. He really liked that the sticker on
his card was a squirrel. After washing his hands he ran off to sit in
the circle with the other kids. No hug. No goodbye. He was off. When Chris picked him up he didn't have much to say. Eventually he
told Chris that he thought one boy was funny and that another girl got
angry in the sandbox. From what we've gathered it seems there was a
dispute in the sandbox over a dump truck and his friends were angry
and Cooper was sad (mostly because he wanted to play with the dump
truck). I asked him more questions at dinner and he told me they sang
"if you're happy and you know it". He liked the stomp your feet part
the best (of course). He also threatened to chase me with a
booger...not sure if that was something he learned today or came up
with on his own. The good news is when I asked him if he wanted to go back to school, I
got an emphatic "Yes!"
