Round and round we go
So Cooper saw a commercial today for this "as seen on TV" flying saucer toy. He got really excited and when I walked back in the room he started telling me all about it but he was talking so fast I only caught the words "spaceship" and "hand". Chris filled me in that it flies and you can control it with your hand. After that all he talked about was getting our shoes and coats and going to the store. I tried to explain to him that it was only on TV and not at the store. So he said "OK, TV" and got the remote and turned off the TV then said 'Get my coat. Get in the car. Go to store". So I tried to be clearer and explained the toy can only be bought on TV and then has to be mailed to our house. He said "OK, open the door. Get the mail". After that I tried to explain that shipping is not like the store and takes time which brought us back to "OK go to the store". We went around like this for about half an hour. It finally ended with me basically saying "No toy" and him in tears. Thanks marketing geniuses. Your commercials are most effective. The funny thing is I went to the grocery later in the day and when I got home Cooper was thrilled to see me...well thrilled to see bags from the store. He had to inspect all of them in hopes of finding the flying saucer.
