Seven Months Old

It's hard to believe it's been seven months since Cooper was born! Every day he seems to discover something new. This week it has been his upper lip. He has been sucking it in under his bottom lip to make a very silly face. He's been doing really well with the solid foods. We added vegetables to the menu a few weeks ago. The first night was a bit rough. I started with green beens which he really didn't like at first. He made a very ugly face on the first bite and actually gagged on every bite after that. I didn't have the heart to make him eat more than 5 bites of it but the next day Chris was able to get him to eat half a jar so all is good. Since then he's had peas, carrots and sweet potatoes.

He's really good at rolling over now and prefers to sleep on his stomach. We've been practicing sitting up but he's still a little wobbly. He's very curious and tries to pick up anything that isn't nailed down. His new favorite toy seems to be my hair. He pulls it every chance he gets. His grabiness seems like a bad omen for the future. I have a feeling that he will be getting into everything possible once he is mobile.

Cooper is finally big enough for the cowboy boots Aunt Karen and Uncle Paul got him. Grammie got him some cowboy themed shirts so we thought we would give the outfit a try. We've had some good adventures lately. Last weekend we went to the state fair. Cooper did great. He just hung out in his stroller taking in the sites. And boy were there some sites! We're looking forward to next year when Cooper is a bit older and will be able to enjoy the activities a bit more. Maybe he'll even have his first corn dog!

Here's a video of Cooper after he ate. Chris gave him the wooden spatula so he would stop grabbing the spoon. The funny part was that he started laughing like crazy and swinging the spatula around. Of course he stopped doing it as much once we got out the camera.



This video doesn't have the best picture but what the funny part is the way he is laughing. We're not sure what he thought was so funny but he just kept laughing that crazy laugh. We might be raising an evil genius set on world domination or it was just gas.
