Cooper is now 6 months old and, as of today, officially rolling over. He's rolled over a few times before but not on a regular basis. Something must have clicked today because now he won't stop. It started earlier today when Chris put him down for a nap. He woke up making his usual babbling noises so Chris took his time to go get him. Then he started screaming. When Chris got in there not only had he rolled over to his belly but had also turned 180 degrees! After I got home I took him upstairs with me and was about to lay him on the bed while I gathered up the laundry but thought twice given what Chris told me about his nap. Instead I laid him on the floor and before I knew it he had rolled from back to belly to back. He's been rolling over every chance he gets now. The days of laying him on the bed and turning your back are now over.
We've been busy, busy since the last post. Cooper went to his first Comfest. Comfest is short for Community Festival which is a music and arts festival held yearly at Goodale park. It's a good place to relax, listen to music and do some serious people watching. For Chris, the highlight is corn dogs. The girls at work made Cooper a special shirt for his first visit. It said "that's not incense you're smelling" on the front and "Coop" on the rear.
Cooper also went to his first birthday party for Colin. The theme was John Deere and Cooper got a teething toy that is three seed packets that are different textures and make noises. It has become his favorite toy. We also went to the Worthington Arts festival with Grammie and Aunt Carole. This past weekend Uncle Eric, Aunt Susan and Kaylee and Logan came for a visit. They were amazed at how much Cooper has grown since their last visit in March. Cooper was shy at first but eventually warmed up and showed off his all his new tricks. He's become quite the busy little guy. He reaches out and grabs for things all the time. He loves to grab his feet (and my hair). Diaper changes and baths are becoming much more challenging. He is also a very vocal little guy. He's gone through several phases lately. There's the high pitched sound much like letting the air out of a balloon. Then there is the close mouthed muffled scream. Of course there is always the full out yell and the newest is the primitive grunt. He's really starting to develop his personality and seems to have an ornery streak. I wonder where he gets that? His latest thing is going stiff and arching his back when he doesn't want to be in his swing. All in all though he is a real joy. It's hard to resist his laugh and smile. Here's Cooper rolling over.
