Cooper had another good week. He continues to sleep through the night (yippee!) and is a very pleasant little guy (most of the time.) Wednesday he got a visit from Grandma and Grandpa. I'm not sure who was happier to see who. Grandma really had Cooper smiling and laughing. She brought him a pair of bib overalls which we had to put on him right away. Every little boy needs bibs! I just have to keep Chris from dressing him only in the bibs with no shirt. Last week he had him in just a tshirt and diaper which I thought was a little on the WT side.Saturday Chris discovered that there is still a drive-in theater open in Columbus. Shrek 3 was just released and it's kind of a tradition to see the new Shrek movie on my birthday. We thought the drive-in was a good solution since we could take Cooper. We figured by the time the movie started he would be asleep. Imagine our surprise when we got to the drive-in and the ticket line was backed up into the street! Who knew the drive-in was still so popular. The place was an absolute mad house packed full of kool-aid mustached kids, playing catch in the middle of the road, and their NASCAR loving parents. We knew we were in for a good time when the 6 year old kid next to us yelled "There's no f***ing pop in this cooler". It got even better when a group of folks parked on either side of us and then promptly set up there lawn chairs in front of our car because it had a better view. Cooper woke up just in time for the movie to start. Normally he goes to sleep at 8 but he and I had taken a 2 hour nap that afternoon (oops) and he was charged up and ready to party. He did alright until about half way through. Then he spit up all over Chris. He got fussier and fussier until I finally got out of the car and walked back and forth with him. Needless to say we didn't stay for the second feature and neither one of us is really sure if Shrek 3 was a good movie or not. So much for the drive-in.
I had to take this picture of Floyd. He looks so peaceful doesn't he? He's actually just exhausted. Our gentle little dog turned into a vicious hunter last night. I guess he got tired of us making fun of his poor sense of smell and near-sightedness and decided to prove once and for all that "this dog can hunt". It's common for us to leave the back door open in warm weather and let Floyd go in and out as he pleases. Last night as Chris and I were just finishing watching the Sopranos we heard some odd sounds coming from outside. We both rushed outside to the sound of a ruckus under the deck that consisted of an odd chirping/squeak sound. Floyd had managed to push in a piece of the lattice that goes around the deck and crawl underneath. When Chris shined the flashlight under there he could see Floyd with what appeared to be a mouse in his mouth. Of course Floyd wouldn't respond to our calls so we finally lured him out with some salami. He was covered in mud and slime. We put him in his kennel to cool off and hopefully clean himself up but when Chris let him out later he was still covered in who knows what. After an hour long bath, in which Chris had to literally scrape the sticky gunk off of him, our great white hunter was finally clean. Oh and just so you know...this picture isn't posed...Floyd is so much of a princess that he often sleeps like he is people.
