Potty progress?

After his bath last night Cooper insisted on taking off his diaper. Nothing else has worked so I thought some "sanctioned" naked time might curb the "unsanctioned" crib naked time. So off came the diaper and Cooper yelled "Weeeee" has he streaked across the living room, happy and free. We talked about using the potty and I showed him the glow-in-the-dark super hero underwear Chris bought him a few weeks back. He was very interested and wanted to open the package right away but we told him he couldn't open it until he used the potty. So he ran to the bathroom put the potty seat over the toilet and sat down, twice! But once there he was more interested in flushing than making a deposit. I told him flushing is for closers but I don't think he got the reference (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104348/quotes). Needless to say I was pretty thrilled because this is the most interest he's shown in potty training so far.

Feeling confident I put him to bed. I checked on him 20 minutes later only to find him naked and the bed soaked. So much for sanctioned naked time. I really have no problem with the naked...kids will be kids...it's the cleanup that bothers me. Once again humbled by a two year old. I may have lost the battle but the war continues...time to google "toddler proof pajamas".
