Happy Mother's Day!

Is anyone there? It's me, Cooper. I know it's been a while since the last post but I've been keeping mom and dad really busy lately. They're having a hard time keeping up with me now that I'm walking. It's pretty cool because now I can reach waaay more things than I could before like door knobs for instance. I know, it's awesome! I still can't make them to open the door but I did figure out if you pound on the door enough someone else will open it for you. Anyway since it's Mother's Day I thought I would help mom and out and update everyone.

Mom and dad took me to see Dr. Jen again. Something about a well check. She seemed cool at first but then she started sticking things in my ear and shining a light in my eyes...too weird. She was really happy with how much I've grown. I weigh 22 lbs 5 oz and am 30 3/4 inches. That puts me in the 25th percentile for weight and 50th for height. Not too shabby for a preemie. Dr. Jen also said I shouldn't drink from a bottle anymore. So after that visit mom started putting my milk in a cup, whatever, no problem, I was only drinking from it before bed anyway. Mom and dad told Dr. Jen they were worried that all I would eat was baby food. Blah, blah, blah...I didn't know it meant so much to them so when we went to lunch after my appointment I ate a bunch of rice and cheese. Now I eat the things mom and dad eat all the time. I really like turkey and cheese. Yogurt's alright but you know what is the best...Mac and Cheese! I would have given up baby food a lot sooner if I would have known about it. I also like lemons. Mom and dad giggled the first time they gave me one...not sure why...but I thought it was really good. Mom keeps taking pictures of me when I eat...she's so weird. The first picture is Spaghettios and this one is an Oreo.


Now that the weather is nicer we've been going to the park a lot. It's a lot of fun. There are pine cones everywhere and when you bang them against the slide they make a neat sound. I usually try to bring one home with me to show Floyd but he's usually napping.


Usually there are other kids at the park too. I get really excited when I see them. I was trying to talk to this one girl but for some reason she didn't understand what I was saying. She kept asking mom what I was saying but mom didn't know either. Sheesh, my own mother. We've also gone to the play area at the mall a couple of times. Last time we were there some big kid was running really fast and knocked me down. I was alright but you should have seen the look on mom's face! I liked crawling through the tunnel that looked like a tree. There was also a gorilla that I tried to crawl under but I got stuck. It was pretty funny and made me laugh. I'm just happy it's done snowing. Last time we got so much snow it was almost as tall as me.


Floyd is happy the snow is gone too.


Let's see what else has been happening...


We already talked about walking. Oh, I can say "Hi" and "Bye" really good now. When mom leaves for work in the morning I say bye a few times to make her happy and when she gets home I say hi. Sometimes she doesn't hear me at first because she's talking to dad so I keep saying it until she says hi back. I can also say "go", "baby", "daddy" and just today I thought I would give mom a special gift and say "mama". Sometimes I say "what is that" and "thank you" too at least that is what mom and dad think they hear. If they were paying attention they would know I'm saying waaaay more than that. I also like to give hugs and kisses. The key to the kiss is to stick out your tongue and make sure you get their cheek really wet. At least that's what Floyd told me to do.


Did I mention my birthday? It was January 8. I wanted to keep it low key so mom and dad got a cake and the three of us hung out. They tried really hard to get me to eat some but I had a sudden inspiration and decided to make a painting instead. Check it out...

Well I need to go make some repairs to my wagon...next time I should have some video of my trips to the park and my last visit to see mamaw and papaw. See you later and happy Mother's Day.
