Chris and I went to dinner and a movie! Grammie came down from Mansfield on Saturday afternoon and watched Cooper while we went out. This is the first time we've left the house together without the little guy. We saw the movie 300 and went to Olive Garden. Seems pretty mundane but it was really nice to take a break and do something fun. Cooper and Grammie seemed to have a good time too, at least neither one of them was crying when we got home so I took that as a good sign. Grammie must have worn Cooper out because he slept for five hours, skipping his 9pm feeding. He's done it twice more since then. Dr. Jen said he might start doing that around this time. It would be nice if he would skip the 3am feeding but we'll take what we can get.
Cooper is really starting to enjoy the world. Monday when I came home from work he actually smiled at me and cooed a little. It made my heart melt. Now Chris is trying to get him to smile at him but Cooper isn't cooperating. I put Cooper on his stomach in his activity gym the other day and he smiled and held his head up while looking at all the dangling objects. His neck is really starting to get strong. He's also moving his arms around a lot. The problem is he still doesn't have a lot of control. Sunday he poked himself in the eye and cried because it hurt. His eyed watered and he wouldn't open it for 5-10 minutes. Of course the over protective parent in me was worried he scratched his cornea but he soon recovered and is just fine now.
