This is my last week of time off so Chris and I have been practicing our schedule for when I really go back to work next week. So he's been handling feedings between 1am and 4am. I do the 6am feeding then get ready for "work", no going back to bed! I haven't consistently been up before sunrise since high school. It's going to take some getting used to. Chris takes care of Cooper after that until I "get home" around 5pm. Then it's me again until midnight. Monday went well but I already diverged from the schedule today. Cooper kept Chris up most of the night so I let him sleep and did the 9am feeding because we had to go to my postpartum checkup at 11:50. Not the best idea because that threw everything off. Live and learn.
The checkup went well. Dr. Ananth was very happy to see Cooper and how well he was doing. She said we will have to talk before I get pregnant the next time because I have a 50% chance of having Preeclampsia again. Chris is scaring me because he thinks it would be fun if I got pregnant again right away. He thinks it would be funny to have two kids born in the same year. Easy for him to say. I was disappointed to find that I have actually gained weight since my last visit instead of losing. I guess I will have to get back to my pre-pregnancy diet of no wheat, sugar or dairy. It's going to be hard because I've been indulging in all the foods I couldn't eat while I was pregnant like Blue Cheese and Coke with caffeine. Hopefully going back to work will help because it won't be as easy for me to snack all day like I have been.
The best news of the day is my car is now paid off! We are officially the proud owners of a 2001 VW Passat. The timing couldn't be better. Now the car payment can be used to keep us stocked in Pampers and Similac.
