Some friends suggested we take a picture of Cooper beside an object that every one is familiar with so you can get an idea of scale in relation to his actual size. A dollar bill was suggested but money has seen a lot of hands and seemed really dirty to me (uh oh, I'm turning into one of those moms) so I decided on the can of Dr. Pepper (yes mom, I washed it first). Cooper wasn't so keen on the idea and kept rolling away from it.Chris took the night shift last night and things went pretty well. At least that's what he told me. I got some much needed sleep. Chris has the magic touch when it comes to feeding Cooper because he's been able to get him to eat almost 2oz. each time. He said one time Cooper coughed on him and he said "Thanks a lot Cooper" and Cooper made a face that looked like a smile. Maybe a sign that we have a little prankster on our hands.
We gave Cooper his first sponge bath today. He didn't seem to mind too much. He protested a little bit but he didn't scream the whole time like I expected. He did punish us for a rookie mistake. We were almost finished when he gave his impersonation of a fountain and peed all over himself and the changing pad. Lesson learned. Always put on the diaper immediately after washing the twigs and berries. So I guess you could say he got his first and second sponge bath today.
Chris' brother, John, drove all the way from college at Muskingum to see Cooper today. He brought him a little Muskingum College t-shirt. As you can see, it's a little big right now but I'm sure he'll grow into it faster than we think. We also got some really nice flowers from my grandma, Cooper's great grandma Allene. On top of that we got a package from Ryan, Jill and Macy. Jill is one of my roommates from college. All of her gifts had notes to help us rookies out. She sent books we can read to him to help with language development, some cloth diapers to use for burp cloths, a really cure bear outfit and Cooper's first MP3 player. The MP3 player has been kid tested and kid approved by Macy. Chris also put the rug that grandma and grandpa bought in Cooper's room.

Good Night every one...we're sleepy.
