Did you hear that?

Sleeping BeautyCooper had his hearing screening today and passed with flying colors. We were pretty sure hearing wasn't a problem because he often turns his head toward the sound of our voices or other noises in the NICU. When we arrived today for his 2pm feeding we were really pleased to see that the jaundice lights and heater were turned off. Now that he can regulate his own temperature and doesn't need the lights, we can hold him as much and as long as we want. The nurse said the plan is still to send him home on Monday.

Mom and I went back for the 8pm feeding and found Cooper was still doing well. He got hungry so the nurse was already feeding him when we got there. We brought in a bottle of our own so they can test it out and see if he likes it. The nurse said it's important to do that so when you get him home he is used to the bottles and won't have any problems eating. We also brought in the car seat so they can do a car seat test. Basically they put him in the seat for an hour and make sure he fits and doesn't have any breathing problems while in it.

Tomorrow Cooper gets to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Gambill and Great Grandma and Grandpa Salyers when they come up from Portsmouth.
