Week Nine

Technically it's the last day of week eight but close enough. We just had our first doctors visit. I was feeling really nauseus and light headed. Not sure how much was the baby and how much was nerves. But just to be safe the nurse made me lie down before she took blood. After going over some genetic family history with the nurse it was time to see the doc. Dr. Ananth did an ultrasound and said the baby was posing in text book position. It was pretty amazing! You could see the head and the heart beating. Then it moved and you could actually see a little arm flail! It's starting to feel much more real now that we've actually seen it. We won't find out the sex until October when they do the second ultrasound and that's only if the baby cooperates and is in a position where it can be seen.

Em,
reading this post made me laugh about the "baby cooperating." I did what a friend advised and drank a HUGE gatorade before my ultrasouns. She swore that it would keep the baby awake so that you could see the sex. Damned if she wasn't right. HOwever, it worked too well and he was ALL over the place bouncing off the walls. But there was no question it was a little boy after that. Something to keep in mind!
